In uganda we did a week long safari. We got to hike to see gorillas, trek in the forest with chimpanzees and see other African animals, like an elephant bathing. But we also had to drive A LOT and even had to cross rivers that used to be roads. In one place Grace and I were worried a hippo was going to attack us because it was wild and right next to us. We also stayed in the village (it’s called bujagali falls) where my parents used to volunteer. We met some really nice people who became our family for the week. We tubed through rapids on the Nile river, had a boat cruise at the source of the Nile river (Lake Victoria), ate lots of local food, rode on boda-bodas, learned about coffee making and prayed each day for the “trifecta” which was when we would have electricity, wifi and running water. We rarely had all three.
